And the Stop Doing Lists proved to be as important as the To Do Lists.

Set Your Intention Everyday… I heard Oprah Winfrey once say that if you can’t spend ten minutes a day to set your intention you don’t deserve the life of your dreams. Recently I was listening to an interview with Jack Canfield, author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Empire and he was asked to describe his daily routine.

He said the first thing he did every morning was review his goals that he keeps on 3×5 cards next to his bed. Then he takes a few minutes to visualize each goal as being already completed, he allows himself to see, hear and feel the thrill of accomplishing each goal. He also does affirmations and meditates to focus his energy.

In other words, he spends time each day setting his intention. He is focused on a target. He is spending time putting energy into what he wants to create in his life.

This is different than just reviewing a To Do list each day. This is taking a few minutes every day to step back, pause, focus, and declare for yourself what you want in your life. And then to claim it, to see it as already having been accomplished and allowing yourself to start each day feeling the satisfaction and joy that what you want is on its way.

Ask yourself this question; How much time am I currently spending setting my Intention every day? Success leaves clues, pay attention, taking a few minutes each day to set your Intention and get focused on your Goals can change your results dramatically.

Make it a new daily practice to spend at least ten minutes every day to review and visualize your goals, do affirmations, and as Louise Hay says; “Declare for yourself what you want in life! Declare it as though you have it!”

It works for Oprah and Jack and it will work for you too! Every day… Wake Up and Claim It!

“BUCK” is a fascinating documentary about real-life cowboy Buck Brannaman, who inspired both the novel and the motion picture “The Horse Whisperer”. But what I find really fascinating is that Cindy had an inspiration to make a movie and she did not allow the fact that she had no movie making experience stop her; she just went ahead and did it anyway and as a result brought this beautiful film to life.

This movie is not just about horses it’s about how you do life and I love the Unstoppable Way that Cindy Meehl does life and can’t wait for her to share more of her story with us on Thursday. I am looking forward to her insights and discovering how she took her idea, her inspiration and her passion and turned that into an Award Winning reality.

What If The Answer Is… A Leap Of Faith

Remember the scene in the movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where Indy has to risk his life getting the Holy Grail to save his dying Father? Indy’s father must drink from this cup or he will die.

In the movie the Holy Grail is hidden in a chamber deep inside a mountain and the tunnel which leads to it is filled with a series of challenges, life threatening traps and deadly hazards, which Indy miraculously survives. And then he comes out of the tunnel only to find an even bigger challenge. He is standing on a ledge overlooking a huge chasm and the opening to the chamber which holds the Holy Grail is the other side and there is no way to get to it.

It looks hopeless, for the chasm, the deep crevasse before him is too wide to jump. What is he to do? There is no bridge. He has no rope. His whip will not help him here. No way to cross. His Father lay dying behind him. One sip from the Grail will save his life. He can’t go back without the Grail; he must get to the other side.

He had bravely passed all the challenges to get to this point, but here he is faced with this last challenge and this one appears impossible to surmount. He cannot see any way to get to the other side, and yet he must find a way, but how?

And suddenly, he remembers a clue to passing the last challenge, a clue that contains the answer, an answer that will reveal the way to get to the other side.

What is the clue? What is the secret that will help him reach the other side and save his Father? The secret to the last challenge is… a Leap of Faith! He must take a leap of faith. He must step out onto thin air. He must believe and he must act on that belief.

He looks down at the bottomless pit before him. He pauses, looks up, takes a deep breath, appears to pray and steps out onto what looks like nothingness beneath him.

And then as if by magic, as he steps forward into the crevasse, a bridge suddenly appears beneath his feet. There is a bridge, there is a way, a bridge appears out of the nothingness!

And the bridge, the way, was there all along. It was there, but he did not see it, he did not see it until he believed, for faith is believing in things unseen. He believed and he made a leap of faith. He had met the challenge… and he got the Holy Grail and saved his father, thanks to Indy the world once again was safe.

Now, what about you? Where are you afraid to step out? Where are you standing on the edge waiting for someone or something outside of you to save you? What chasm are you trying to cross? What challenge do you face that appears impossible to surmount?

Where does it look like there is no bridge, no way to get from where you are to where you want to go? Where, in your life, are you waiting for proof? Where are you letting fear stop you from stepping into the unknown to pursue your dream? Where are you frozen and stuck because you can’t see the how, the way?

Just like Indy maybe you must take a leap of faith to get to where you want to go. And it may appear to you that the gap is too wide and the chasm too deep for you to cross but what if there was a bridge there for you too only you can’t see it yet.

Because the bridge, the way, only reveals itself when you have the courage to make a leap of faith. And when you have that kind of faith the universe will rise up to meet you, the bridge will appear and the way to get to where you want to go will become clear. You just have the courage to believe what you want to believe regardless of appearances, have faith and… Leap.

“You Talkin’ to Me?”… Remember this famous line from Travis Bickle (Played by Robert DeNiro) in the 1976 movie Taxi Driver…”You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me? Then who the ‘heck’ else are you talkin’ to? You talkin’ to me? Well I’m the only one here. Who the ‘heck’ do you think you’re talking to?” (Not exactly how he said it, he was somewhat more expressive, I changed it just a little bit).

So here’s the question, stop and think… Just who do you think you’re talking to when you’re talking to you? And what’s it like being in there all day, every day, second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, twenty-four hours a day, day-in and day-out with you?

I mean what’s it like inside your head, living in there with you talking to you? What’s it like to be in there listening to all your talking? Just what does YOU talking to YOU sound like?

I wonder… Do you hear a friendly, positive, supportive, friend who encourages you in all that you do? Do you give you tons of reassurance and wonderful compliments?

Or does you talking to you sound more like a “Yakity Yak & Yuk” voice that has a life of its own with one major aim, to put you down, hold you back and/or slow you up & keep you stuck, stalled and living in struggle?

Are you listening to what you say to YOU, about YOU? Are you paying attention to you talking to you? After all when you are talking to you, you’re talking to the most important person you know. Do you like what you hear?

Does it sound like you believe in you? Do you hear confidence? Do you speak to yourself with kindness? Do you speak to yourself with love? Or do you dread your ever present critic, that inner diatribe, the voice that is always ready to jump up, to pounce on you just to put you down?

If someone else could hear your self-talk how would they describe it? Would they say, “Wow! What a powerful, positive can-do voice of faith, hope and encouragement!” Or would the description be more like, “Boy I’m glad I don’t have to live with that! Who could ever put up with all that negative criticism all day long?”

Wake-Up and listen, pay attention, if you don’t like what you hear, “STOP talkin’!” You do not have to allow old, random, trash talk to mindlessly repeat itself inside your head. You do not have to keep regurgitating the crap that you hated the first time around to begin with.

You get to choose what you say when you talk to you, and you can choose words that build you up instead of tear you down! The words YOU speak have power, the power to shape your life and mold it into whatever you want it to be.

Ask yourself if the words you speak to you about you help you or hinder you? Do the conversations you have with you move you closer to your goal, or further away?

Are they “I can do anything!” pep talks mostly or “Don’t even try!” discouragement? You are in control of the conversation, if you don’t like what you hear change it! Choose on purpose to tell yourself better feeling stories about who you are and what’s possible for you.

Choose to use words that build you up rather than tear you down. Give yourself permission to tell your “Yakaty Yak & Yuk” critic to STIFLE! (Shut Up!) The words you speak to you are creating your destiny so take control of your inner dialogue, your conversations, and choose your words wisely.

Purposefully, turn on and tune in to you as your very best friend, a raving fan who you can always count on for a great big, “YOU’RE TERRIFIC, BRILLIANT, TALENTED, GORGEOUS AND FABULOUS SWEETHEART!” Remember, when you are talking to “YOU”, what you say matters, so say it with kindness, say it with love and say it like you mean it!

It’s Your Choice…

You are where you are in your life by choice not by chance.

You may not like the results you are getting, but you ordered up those results just the same as you would order a steak off of a menu.

“But how? No Way! I never would have chosen this! I would have chosen something different, had I known the choice was mine!”

You can choose anything you want from that menu and whether you are aware of it or not, It’s always been YOUR CHOICE …

CHOICE: The POWER That Rules RESULTS!

We choose what we say and whom we say it to. We choose our self-talk, and we choose whether that self-talk empowers and inspires us or disempowers and diminishes us. We choose our actions. We choose to have a good day or we choose to have a bad day.

We choose to be happy. We choose to be sad. We choose to be angry. We choose to be thankful. In all things, we get to choose.

And, in all that choosing we sometimes forget that we are the ones who are doing the choosing, it is always our choice. WE CHOOSE HOW WE PLAY THE GAME OF LIFE. We choose in or we choose out.

We choose. We choose our dreams, our goals, our vision and we choose whether we pursue those dreams, goals and vision or not. We choose to settle for, put up with and tolerate or not. We choose to play big or we choose to play small. We choose yes or we choose no.

We choose, and what we choose, the choices we make, RULE OUR RESULTS. We live the lives we choose to live. Whether consciously or unconsciously, it’s always our choice.

And the choices we made in all our yesterdays created today and what we choose today will create all our tomorrows.

So choose well, become AWAKE and AWARE in your choosing. Choose to follow your dreams and believe in yourself. Choose to see your brilliance.

Give yourself permission to choose BIGGER and BETTER. Choose FAITH over fear. Choose HAPPINESS, PEACE, JOY, LOVE and PROSPERITY.

And while you’re at it, CHOOSE GREATNESS too. After all, it’s simply a matter of choice!
